The recession in the U.S has caused many folks to stop or slow down their purchasing habits. As far as the automobile industry, they have received bi hits due to the fact that consumers are looking for smaller & economic cars. However, there have been studies stating that the automobile industry is being affected by generation Y.

It has been said that generation Y is hurting the automobile industry because students are now communicating, working, and studying online. Given so, generation Y Is not in need for automobiles or any type of transportation products.

Is this online habit going to start affecting airline tickets, hotels, etc? I believe so. If a junior executive is conducting work from home then he/she probably doesn’t need to travel and stay in a hotel. They can just work from home.

I do believe that there is a line that we can’t cross. As far as senior executive work, not all the work can be completed online. There has to be a personal relationship that will probably need traveling and hotel expenses.

The internet has been a revolutionary technology that has helped millions of people, businesses, and government facilitate communications and has been a great tool when it comes to time management; however, I am a little sketchy when it comes to having an online community that only communicates news, ideas, etc directly with the government.

I strongly believe that the lack of face-to-face interaction between government agencies and the people they serve will end up causing miscommunication between the government and the people they serve.

.GOV is a sponsored top level domain registered to the US government. This means that anything that uses the .gov at the end of the domain is linked to the Government.

The government is going virtual and I think that we need to be careful with what the future holds as far as having an online government network, were decisions are discussed and voting is made.
