Companies such as buy.com have to think of ways on how to connect with online consumers in order to have a successful, loyal consumer. As I searched online for a site that used distinctive techniques that would attract and maintain active consumers, I came across Buy.com.
Buy.com is a company that sells a wide range of products to consumers every day. So how and why is Buy.com differentiating itself from the competition? As I looked over their page I noticed that this company had a theme that related to consumers. I noticed that their design (colors, overlay, etc) was very eco friendly. It also had a neat design and the page didn’t attack the consumer with 29482847 products that are jumping out of the screen. The page is subdivided into sections and ahs a quick search bar at the top. I noticed that buy.com had a deal of the day special. This is something that I thought it was very clever. Consumer now a days are looking for deals and having a special deal of the day each day makes consumers wonder what today’s special is. Furthermore, I saw that Buy.com offered FREE SHIPPING in a lot of products.
After looking at this successful ecommerce business I realized that in order to have a successful eBusiness, one must differentiate itself from the competition. You must be user friendly and have a strong connection with you clientele.
A strong business plan should always be implemented and you should always try to offer as many products/services as possible.

I think also a main key for online businesses are being user friendly. The easiness of navigation for a web site is very important so they can create the right environment for consumers to buy their products and come back to do business with them.
